situation 1:
Situation
1:
Perhaps my opinion is not that good. Other team-mates may have a better point of view. Then I would listen to what other team-mates have to say.
If I think my opinion is good enough but other team-mates do not buy probably because the argument is not strong enough, I would try to re-package my arguments before putting them forward for consideration again. Alternatively, I may make use of other sources of power. If there are other people who are more creditable than I am, I would tell them about my opinion and elaborate on the advantages. Then I would ask them to help me convince the team-mates.
Situation 2:
This is a situation where conflict exists between 2 people. Being a leader, I would ask the two team-mates to state their own objective, not solutions. I will show a lot of empathy and listen to them carefully. If they can tell me their objective and what they want to achieve, I would help them to brainstorm a solution which can mutually benefit both of them.
Situation 3:
Being a leader, I would take a more proactive approach to build up some trust and relationship with my people first. If I expect them to respect me, I would respect them first. If I expect them to listen to me, I would listen to them first. If I really want them to do something for me later on, I would tell them why it is necessary to do so. They may feel more comfortable to comply if they understand the reason behind.
